Private music lessons for adults.

As an adult music student, you collaborate with your teacher to define your goals and path to success. Whether revisiting your instrument or picking one up for the first time, you will join our current two hundred adult students who experience the rewards of studying music. Taking on a new creative challenge is a great change of pace. From there, joining a group, playing on a recital, or just enjoying practicing is a reward in itself. This is your journey, and we will be with you every step of the way.

Tuition: $250 for 30 Sessions


This small group class is a training ground for string students wishing to join a community orchestra. The concertmaster of Chestnut Orchestra, Molly Shira, will work on skills, repertoire, and confidence, that will prepare you to join the Chestnut Orchestra.

Thursday: 6:30 – 7:15 pm
Tuition: $125 for 15 Sessions


This music theory course is designed for the adult student. Want to learn what all those words in your music mean? Have you always wanted to read a score? Ever wondered how to know if you’re playing a minuet, trio, sonata or suite? This class, taught by Dr. Michelle Shoemaker, will take your musicianship to the next level!

Tuition: $150 for 6 Sessions



Chamber music is a great way to reinforce musical skills learned in the private lesson. Experience the delight of connecting with fellow student musicians as you play together throughout the year.

Open to advanced players chosen through audition by coach, Judith Bedford. This group explores the extensive and various repertoire of the traditional woodwind octet. This is an exciting, rewarding, and challenging group that performs extensively in the community.

Tuition: $425 for 30 Sessions


*Guitar, Bass, Percussion, Keys, Voice, Winds, Brass, Violin* Bands are organized according to level of experience and instrumentation. All band equipment is provided by the school, except for guitars. There are performance opportunities throughout the year.
