Music Inclusion Instructor

Join our Faculty at the All Newton Music School as a Music Inclusion Instructor. As our Music Inclusion program grows, we are seeking a music therapist with a diverse background, skills and experience with all ages and abilities.

This is an opportunity to take on currently enrolled students and build a studio. Teaching responsibilities will include private lessons and group music inclusion programs. Faculty are also expected to attend occasional faculty meetings and participate in our yearly music festival, Music in May. Performance opportunities are available to ANMS faculty.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing and leading music inclusion lessons for private lesson students and small groups with diverse skills and abilities

  • Email and phone communication with new students and groups to answer any questions and concerns about accessing private and group music lessons at the Music School.

  • Demonstrate a professional attitude to all students, prospective students, and caregivers at all times

  • Engage in regular communication with the Music Inclusion Advisor to support the student in accessing all aspects of the Music Schools community.

  • Build and maintain rapport with families and caregivers through phone and email communications to support the student.

Qualifications:

Teaching experience with a variety of ages and levels required. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and flexible applicant with a love for working with children, adults, and a desire to work with a teaching team. ANMS conducts CORI background checks, as required by state law.

BA, BS, or MA in Music Therapy or Music Therapy Equivalency with completed clinical training and Board Certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC.) Demonstrate proficiency on piano with additional experience on guitar, voice and percussion a plus. Experience with keyboard, guitar, voice and percussion a plus. Willing to consider applicants working towards their MT-BC Certification.

Other Requirements:

Must have a reliable way to commute to and from the All Newton Music School.

Hours, Pay Range and Benefits:

Part Time Fee for Service Employees will work an average of 1-19

hours a week depending on contract work available. Pay will vary based on education and experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Preferred Availability:

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Looking for an applicant that can accommodate two or more of the these day in this time window.  

Preferred additional extended availability during our schools February vacation week, April vacation week and the gap week when camps end and public schools begin in August.
