POLICIES

Registration/Payment Policy

All registrations and payments must be made prior to the first lesson or class in each semester. MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and checks are accepted.

Current students will be automatically re-enrolled each semester and will receive several reminders regarding automatic billing prior to the first payment. Students will have an opportunity to submit change requests or discontinue lessons between semesters.

Registration Fees

An annual $45 non-refundable registration fee is charged per family at the time of registration.

Registration Discounts

Seniors (65+) receive a 10% discount for Private Lessons. Discounts are applied at the time of registration only.

Payment Plan

To pay tuition in installments, you must use a credit card. Tuition will be divided into three payments: Payment #1 must include 1/3 of total Tuition, the appropriate Registration Fee, and payments #2 and #3 will be charged at appropriate intervals.

Refund Policy

Withdrawal within the first three private lessons of each semester will result in tuition reimbursement minus the three lessons taught. There are no refunds on private lessons for withdrawal on or after the fourth lesson. There are no refunds for classes after the classes begin. All registration fees are non-refundable.

Absences

You are guaranteed one ‘for-any-reason’ private lesson makeup per semester. You are guaranteed a makeup lesson any time the instructor cancels for private lessons and classes, or a refund awarded at the end of the semester/academic year. Make-up lessons are not given for students missing classes/group lessons. There is one annual make-up day built into the academic calendar for one class or private lesson canceled due to weather.

Instructors will do their best to accommodate and make up private lessons due to holidays outside the academic calendar, however, instructors are not required to make these lessons up (beyond the one guaranteed student absence).

Emergency Closing

ANMS follows the Newton Public School’s policy for emergency weather closings. Announcements will be made via our website and ANMS voicemail.

Holidays

ANMS follows the Newton Public School calendar. All Federal holidays are observed. The academic calendar is available HERE or at the Front Desk.

Parking Safety

Drop off students near the front door before the lesson and leave the lot immediately. Parking is available on Prince Street or the carriage road on Commonwealth Ave. There are only 12 designated spaces in the front parking lot. Please do not assume one will be available for you! DO NOT park on Chestnut Street. It is very dangerous.

Pick Up

Pick up students at the front door. Arrive 5-10 minutes AFTER the student’s lesson ends. This gives your student time to pack up, get down the stairs, and be waiting on the porch for their ride. Students are safe waiting on the porch, and should be instructed to stay there until their ride has arrived. You may not come early and live park! This causes a backup of cars onto Chestnut Street and is dangerous. Our goal is the safety of all people using this facility.

Accessibility and Non-Discrimination

All Newton Music School makes every effort to welcome and accommodate those individuals requiring additional assistance in accessing our programming. In addition to the building’s exterior ramp, wide entryway and ADA-compliant restroom, the school strives to tailor all activities to meet the needs of visitors and students alike: where necessary, classes and programs for those with handicaps or disabilities are reconfigured to be as close as possible to these code-compliant amenities. Guests and students are encouraged to contact the ANMS office in advance of their visit in order that the school can best respond to individual needs. All Newton Music School remains committed to “music for all”.

All Newton Music School does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, physical handicap, or religious belief in its admissions, educational programs, activities, or employment policies.
