All registrations and payments must be made prior to the first lesson or class in each semester. For new students, payment must be made in order to reserve their lesson placement. Returning students should view information about automatic re-enrollment below.

Seniors (65+) receive a 10% discount for private lessons.
We are committed to providing you with a quality music education regardless of financial circumstances. Aid is available for private lessons, classes and ensembles. Please complete the Tuition Assistance Application to begin the aid process.

Automatic Private Lesson Re-Enrollment
ANMS students who are enrolled in private lessons will be automatically re-enrolled from each semester to the next, and the day, time, instructor, and length of their lesson will stay the same. Accounts will be automatically charged for tuition payments using your current ACH information or card on file. Returning students can pay in one or three installments per semester. Our registration portal securely stores payment information for future convenience. Students and families will receive several email reminders about billing before these automatic payments are processed.
This automatic re-enrollment process allows you to reserve your lesson spot from one semester to the next. While students and families can choose to unenroll from this process at any time before the tuition due date for the next semester, their current lesson spot and/or teacher placement cannot be guaranteed should they choose to enroll again in the future.
Should students wish to unenroll from private lessons, they must fill out the discontinue lessons form at least one week prior to the first tuition due date of the semester in order to cancel the automatic charge. If students would like to make a change to their lessons, they should fill out the change request form.
Refund Policy
For new students, or students beginning with a new instructor, withdrawal within the first three private lessons of each semester will result in tuition reimbursement minus the three lessons taught. There are no refunds on private lessons for withdrawal on or after the fourth lesson of the semester. There are no refunds for group classes after the classes begin. All registration fees are non-refundable.
Refunds will not be given to existing students who unenroll from private lessons less than a week before the start date of the semester.
Summer Music Explorers Refund Policy
For the Summer Music Explorers Program, refunds may not be available as staffing is determined by enrollment numbers. This applies to early drop-off, the day program, and extended day offerings.

All private lesson students are guaranteed one ‘for-any-reason’ make-up lesson per semester. If a student is going to be absent, they should fill out our absence form in order to notify their instructor. We designate an extra day at the end of the semester as a make-up day that many instructors and families utilize for their make-up lesson. Students are guaranteed one make-up lesson for each instructor absence. In the event that instructor absences are unable to be made up, please reach out to the registration team to discuss refund options. Students and families should contact their instructor directly to schedule make-up lessons.
Instructors will do their best to accommodate student absences due to holidays outside the academic calendar, however, instructors are not required to make these lessons up.
There are no makeups for students who miss group classes or ensembles.

ANMS follows the Newton Public Schools policy for emergency weather closings. Announcements will be made via our website and ANMS voicemail.

Contact with Faculty
All ANMS faculty members can be reached via their @allnewton.org email address. Faculty and teaching artists will not directly call or text students who are under the age of 18 without receiving consent from a parent or guardian.
Parking Safety and Student Pick Up
Some parking is available in our front parking lot at 321 Chestnut St, but spots are limited. Additional parking is available on Prince Street or the carriage road on Commonwealth Ave. Students and families may not park in the faculty parking lot in the rear of the school, or in the fire lane in front of the school.
Students can be dropped off near the front door of our building before their lesson, so long as the driver does not stay parked in prohibited areas. Additionally, DO NOT park on Chestnut Street– it is very dangerous to do so.
Pick up students at the front door. Arrive 5-10 minutes AFTER the student’s lesson ends. This gives your student time to pack up, get down the stairs, and be waiting on the porch for their ride. Students are safe waiting on the porch, and should be instructed to stay there until their ride has arrived. You may not come early and idle in the parking lot. This causes a backup of cars onto Chestnut Street and is dangerous. Our goal is the safety of all people using this facility.
Media Policy
Photo and video may be taken in the building and at ANMS events. By registering for programming (lessons, classes, events) at ANMS, you agree to the capture and promotional use of media that may include you and/or your student(s). If you have any questions or would like a specific photograph or video taken down from our website or social media, OR would like a high quality copy of any photo, please contact info@allnewton.org.
Accessibility and Non-Discrimination
All Newton Music School makes every effort to welcome and accommodate those individuals requiring additional assistance in accessing our programming. In addition to the building’s exterior ramp, wide entryway and ADA-compliant restroom, the school strives to tailor all activities to meet the needs of visitors and students alike: where necessary, classes and programs for those with handicaps or disabilities are reconfigured to be as close as possible to these code-compliant amenities. Guests and students are encouraged to contact the ANMS office in advance of their visit in order that the school can best respond to individual needs. All Newton Music School remains committed to “Music for All”.
All Newton Music School does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, physical handicap, or religious belief in its admissions, educational programs, activities, or employment policies.
