Introduction to Ethnomusicology

Ages: 18 + Years

This musicology course introduces students to the study of ethnomusicology. Just one branch of the sprawling field of musicology, ethnomusicology is the practical study of music in social and cultural contexts. In this class we will start by learning about the various methods of study before diving into a handful of studies that have been done by professional ethnomusicologists. At the end of the course, our work will culminate in our own study that we will research together!
