About

Regie Pineda started taking piano and organ lessons from his mother at an early age of 4 in the Philippines.  Everyone in his family played music but his mom and sister are both professional pianists.  A third pianist in the house didn’t make a lot of sense so he started taking violin lessons at the age of 13.
He earned his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila.  He came to the United States in 1994 and entered the Boston Conservatory, where he studied with Lynn Chang, Victoria Romanul and Bonnie Bewick Brown.  He also studied chamber music with Patricia McCarty, Andrew Mark and Ronald Feldman.  After receiving a Graduate Performance Certificate in 1997, Regie returned to the Philippines.  For the next five years, he served in the faculty of UST and as Principal of the second violin section of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.  He was also a founding member and principal violinist of the Clarion Chamber Players under the leadership of flutist David Johnson.
Regie performs throughout New England and has been teaching violin and viola for over 35 years.  He is also the music director at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster.  He is a founding member of the Eleva Chamber Players since 2006 and was appointed concertmaster in 2024.
